bröllop och gift

Wedding.

"Bröllop" means wedding. "Gift" means married. Fredrik and I are getting married March 27th at 3pm, for you Kansas readers, that is 8am.

I am...for lack of better words, estatic. I am beyond happy. I really feel like the luckiest woman on the face of the planet right now. I get to marry the love of my life, in a country I love. This is the first step to Fredrik and I starting our life together, and it could not be any better.

Wish us luck, and if you happen to be awake at 8am, on that Saturday, send some thoughts our way! We will be here, happy as ever!

Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day! Whether you are Irish or not, be gay and merry! I get to celebrate my non-Irishness with a bunch of Swedes! Can't wait!

The Swedish words of the day are "bröllop" and "gift". Bröllop is pronounced "bruhllop" with a long "o" sound. And gift is pronounced "yift". Sadly, in Swedish, this word can also mean "poison". Yikes.

  2. YEAH! We are happy that you have found the love of your life. Your love for each other is so apparent. May it continue to grow throughout your lives together. We are glad that you are happy and have chosen such a great guy to join the family. We will definitely be thinking of you Saturday morning and raising a toast to you. Congratulations and the grandest of wishes to both of you! Love, Dad and Leslie
